Question on controller connections

I’ve been saving for over a year to get a drone for photography purposes. I’m looking at the Autel EVO for the right combo of quality camera and portability since I’d like to pack it in my gear when camping/hiking, but I’m concerned the wifi based connection for the controller will render it mostly useless for any sort of slightly rugged terrain. This is compared to the lightbridge or whatever the ocularis system thing is that DJI uses.Valid concern?
