Ardupilot question

Hey I currently have a F550 flamewheel. It came with ardupilot and I connected everything. The install wizard is confusing and really I'm not interested in any autopilot at the moment. Just want it to be setup with the controller so I can fly it. Is ardupilot/missionplanner only for guided flights or can I enable it to only fly with the controller? via /r/drones https://ift.tt/2U7OLqg
