DLPT? If your drone gets stuck in a really high tree? Call your local tree service professional!

Soooo, apparently one of my local parks has a UFO buried deep underground or some high-tension power lines because I was flying all fine and dandy and then started throwing MAG INTER warnings and connecting and disconnecting. So my Mavic 2 Pro did what it was set to do; fly to 200ft, and land on home spot. Well stupid me didn't realize that I was dangerously close to a river. So it starts it's trek home does its deal. I am fighting it to get closer to and the shore all the while I am connecting and disconnecting to my flight. I get it close and *BOOM* right into a tree... 40ft up in the air. Stuck onto a limb 15ft from the trunk.I called the police with, "This is going to be the dumbest call you've had today but my drone is stuck in a tree." Instead of laughing it off and telling me to fuck off he said he as going to see if the fire dept were up to the task. I was flabbergasted when he told me that they were on they way. Ladder truck pulls up and because of it being public land, they couldn't reach it. Okay. They tried. So I slept the night wen back to see if there was something I could do and I suck at throwing rocks. So I googled local tree guy. He's like I'll be there in about 20min.I watched this 55-60ish guy put on some ropes, a chainsaw, a plucker and some other roping things. It was painful watching him go up because I don't climb trees and I was like "holy shit this dude is going to die all because of a stupid drone" and "holy shit this is going to cost $1000USD because it really started looking like it was going to be a $1000." But, he does this all the time (cats and drones) and made it look easy as pie. It took about 20min for the up and down and he lowered my baby down to the ground.$150USD.Best day that I've had in awhile. via /r/drones https://ift.tt/2OwsikH
