First of all I know what can cause interference, cell towers, wifi, power lines things like that.My question is does a source of interference have to be near the drone or the controller or can it cause problems just by being between you and the drone? I am hoping to hear from people who have first hand experience rather than hearing the type of general warnings we've all already read in our instruction manuals.I've noticed some strange things where I fly my Dji Spark. There is this small beach on the lake i live on about 200 yards away. Everytime I fly there while piloting from my porch I get terrible connection. I stop getting a live feed or its choppy. I've learned from reviewing footage after the fact the drone is still responding to my commands. So when this happens I increase altitude and eventually I regain my feed once I'm high enough.I'm very perplexed by this. 200 yards is well within the range of the drone (1 mile). Also it's a beach there is no wifi or anything there. I'm wondering if the problem is caused not by something in that area but something between me and the drone while it's in that area. This is my main question. There are power lines between me and the drone there, but that's true no matter where I fly because there are power lines in front of my house. So maybe it's a neighbors wifi? Even if the drone isnt near wifi, can wifi cause interference if its between you and the drone? There is also a cell tower about half a mile from my house. I would imagine this is why I have terrible range in general in my area. I only really have half the range I'm supposed to and that's with a range booster. It's pretty clear the closer I get to the tower the worst connection I have, but the beach is not towards the tower at all.Is there anything I can do to increase range? For example would turning of my houses wifi help? Basically is it important to not only keep the drone away from a source of interference, but is it also important to keep the controller away from a source of interference?Thank you. Any insight would be interesting to me. I'm more just curious how it all works rather than actually trying to solve a problem. via /r/drones http://bit.ly/2Was9Xb
