Attaching fpv camera to fixed wing rc plane

I'm looking to get into fpv flying. I'm a decent rc pilot and it sounds like a good idea to just attach a camera to an rc plane. What would I need to get this set up? Is there like a diy package deal somewhere?I see that people either have goggles or some setup with their phones. Obviously the phone would be cheaper but I need to keep latency in mind.
