Bought son a cheap drone and it developed an issue, I made it worse trying to fix. Any good replacements?

I found a drone at a local consignment sale. It was the drone listed below. I got it for $25 for my son who's 7 years old.https://ift.tt/2HoB6qr the tin drone with it lost a propeller blade. I could replace the blades for $5. But the big one I think burned out a motor. In trying to investigate and test, I accidentally shorted the logic board I believe. Anytime I plugged the battery in, one motor just started spinning. Then I managed to somehow short it out entirely and burn that motor. So now two motors down and probably a logic board. I could replace it for $100 new, and use the one I have for spare parts. That's one option.I'm reaching out here to see if there is something else that's cheap, maybe more durable? I ha e decent soldering skills and can fix a few things when I don't make a stupid mistake. Maybe something cheap where parts are readily available? Any thoughts come to mind? My son liked the camera aspect as he thought that was neat. I could possibly solder the old camera onto a new drone. We never used the VR headset. Is this a lost cause? Should I not waste the money? Wait till he's older? Or find something cheap? Or maybe a bit more expensive but more durable? Any ideas? via /r/drones https://ift.tt/327xAsd
