FAA Airspace Authorization Woes with LAANC

I live in a crowded airspace region. We have a Class C airport with a ton of military airspace. Most of the downtown area of our middle-sized metropolitan city is listed at "0" altitude in LAANC. We all know that no aircraft are going to be flying below 400 feet when there are moderate skyscrapers and tall building, but still the FAA and LAANC lists these areas at "0". This means as a 107 pilot, I need to apply for a FAA Authorization waiver to fly here. Here is the kicker, if you go to the FAA website (faadronezone.faa.org) and try and apply for these waivers, you can only select ONE specific date (because I live in a LAANC airport's airspace). I check the weather as best I can and apply giving about a 7-10 days before my guess. I have done this three times and they always expire before getting approved. This is crazy. I could understand if you could put in a two week period and inform them that you need one or two flights, but nope. You have to choose one day (hope for good weather) and then they don't approve it within time. Is anybody else having these issues? via /r/drones https://ift.tt/2mUi5ER
