Us law on toy class

I’d like to play around with a small toy size drone and see if im interested in growing from there. I live near two airports, a military base, and two hospitals with a hellipad. Airmaps shows at my home I’m in class d airspace.I’m thinking about trying the tello so wouldn’t anticipate anything higher than tree height. I think my understanding of the law is that its small enough I don’t need to register it, but id need to use an app with laanc support to request permission to fly in class d? Is that correct?Does anyone actually do that for this type of flying? Im assuming any pilots below tree level at my house have much greater concern. via /r/drones https://ift.tt/2QsuDP3
