First time drone pilot advice/question

So yeah I’ve toying with getting a drone years ago but the price was out of my range for a toy/hobby that I’m not even sure I wanted to do with enough regularity to make it a financially responsible decision. To my surprise I was browsing a deals site and saw a deal for a holy stone drone and to my surprise it was within a reasonable price range that if I changed my mind I shouldn’t be out too much money.Doing some research I find out it’s a decent drone just not great. I stumble my oafish way to the dji mavic mini. It seems to be an even better drone with good range, decent parts, and so on. Only lacking follow me and the nifty draw a line on the map and it will auto fly it mode sorry don’t know the mode name.First let me say I am a level headed responsible adult male. I understand there are flight restrictions for a reason and would never fly where I’m not allowed. That said I like to play hypothetical scenarios in my head when I’m bored and trap at home with nothing else to do but clean and by anything that is holy I’m going to find something to distract me to keep me from cleaning lol.I ended up finding some reviews saying the drone will stop you from flying in a restricted zone. One reviewer even claimed that he couldn’t fly in his living room because he lived close to an airport. Made me wonder if it was possible that the drone could just be remotely shut down one day. I mean look at Apple and slowing phones and stuff. While I understand it was to supposedly keep the operations of the device stable. If for example I want to overclock my processor I want to be allowed to do so.TLDR: I guess what I’m saying is I don’t want my hand held and treated like a child. It’s fine to give me a warning like hey it’s illegal to fly here don’t do it! But, to leave the final decision to me. Will the mavic mini actually stop me from flying? Is there a better or other drone you suggest someone look at? Try to keep it in the sub $400 range like the mini. What’s important is freedom of choice, small size, decent flight time, nothing too difficult to setup and take down, and ease of control. via /r/drones https://ift.tt/2WUehna
