Just purchased Mavic 2 Pro with Fly More Kit. Learned all the FAA rules and state laws beforehand, didn't take city ordinances into account. Where am I supposed to fly?

I live in Minneapolis/St. Paul MN area. I figured before dropping $2,000 on the drone and kit that I was covered after downloading AirMap and learning all the FAA and state laws, but I'm just now realizing how limited I might be for where to fly. The Parks and Rec rules in both cities basically say drones are prohibited without obtaining a permit from the director. Is that what everyone else on here's doing, or do city recreational flyers just disregard that stuff? Not that I've completely ruled out going through any more necessary steps to make sure I'm covered, I'm just worried that after spending all that money on this new hobby I'm not going to get nearly as much out of it as I thought I would. So far I've practiced flying in a community baseball field, and I've definitely built up some skill.I guess I'm just trying to get a sense of what everyone else on here does if they're living in the city. I guess the way I see it now, if I keep the thing I'd have to scrounge up suitable spaces around the area that I can get away with for flying and perhaps take occasional trips outside of the city. If it's not worth it, I may just return the thing to Best Buy. via /r/drones https://ift.tt/39C3W3u
