Hi! So I’m a beginner pilot. Right now I figured I’d practice flying manually on the good ol’ JJRC Bellwether (cost about $80) because I’m in college, and an obviously on a budget, and I figured it would be smart to learn to master manual flying first (especially considering I almost lost it at a house that was .3 miles away from my flying field once 😂😂😂). Anyway, I want to upgrade eventually to a DJI drone eventually but I have a couple considerations:I’m a Geospatial Information Sciences student, so every waypoint/3D mapping software capability is a MUST for meI’d like to earn side money, possibly, by being that ‘drone photographer guy’I’d like to keep it under $1000It has to have >= 4K resolutionIt needs to be ‘future-proof’Basically to sum up #5 (and most of the rest of the points): is the DJI Fly app likely to be more ‘future proof’ than the DJI GO app, which houses some older, but decent other options for me like the Phantom 4/Advanced or the Mavic Pro 1? It seemed like Mavic Air 2 would be a logical fit, but right now it doesn’t support waypoints, which I find pretty disappointing that I’d have to use a third party app for that, even if I’m just trying to plan a strictly few-point per location photo shoot. Is this likely to change in the near future? If not, would the Phantom 4/Advanced or the Mavic Pro 1 hold the test of time with support and updates in the older app? Let me know what you guys think! via /r/drones https://ift.tt/345zHj5
